Your able bring your wheels to us without tyres, or we can strip refit and re-balance the wheels (if we need to use weights when re-balancing, when possible we will endeavour too fit to the inside of the rim to avoid the appearance of the wheels.
All wheels are acid dipped to remove old paint and residue. Then wheels are gently blasted This will obtain smooth metal surface ready for preparation of coating process. The wheels are then prepared, dressed and filled (if any damage to the rim edges and face found). We do not deal with buckled or badly dented wheels. These are safety related structural repairs and wheels should be written off and replaced. Next the wheels are gently heat treated that will remove any air and oils from the alloy and a first stage powder coat finish is applied and cured for a set period time. After this if the wheel is having a “special” or “bespoke” finish the powder-in-powder procedure takes place (e.g. special powder and clear-coat finish). The wheels are also automatically subjected to a further thermal treatment. The lacquer coat is not only applied to enhance the finish but to protect the alloy wheel against environmental influences (UV radiation, salt, moisture, dirt, etc.) at all points.
Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint which is delivered via an evaporating solvent, powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and then cured under heat or with ultraviolet light. The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating is mainly used for coating of metals, such as alloy wheels, aluminium extrusions, motocycle frames, and bicycle frames.

A faulty TPMS sensor can now result in an immediate MOT failure. As of 1st January 2015 any car manufactured from 2012 onwards that is displaying a TPMS warning light on the dashboard due to a system malfunction will automatically fail its MOT test.
Should you require a new TPMS sensor, at Birtley Coatings we can supply a cost-effective replacement sensor which clones your existing settings for a fraction of the price of a dealership replacement. We can also service your existing TPMS sensors to ensure they continue to work correctly.
Cerakote is a ceramic-based thermoset composite coating that is applied to the surface of firearms, knives, and specialty products like tumblers, and computer parts. It provides a protective finish and can be subjected to high temperatures without the risk of being melting off. The Cerakote brand is composed of multiple colour selections.
Cerakote has a unique chemical composition that gives it durability and strength. The application process is done by our in-house factory-trained and certified Cerakote applicators to ensure the right coverage and thickness. Cerakote is applied by paint gun and it can be applied to both metal and polymer surfaces. The finish of the coating provides for a smoother feel than other coatings with a matte or gloss texture.
If you’re concerned about how long Cerakote lasts, don’t be! It will last for years on metal and plastic surfaces with proper care. Cerakote is corrosion-resistant, scratch-resistant, and chemical-resistant, which creates high durability. Of course, the biggest factor in how long your Cerakote will last is how you use your product, firearm, or piece of equipment with the Cerakote coating.
We can paint just about anything, but we need to talk to you directly to make sure your project will get the right Cerakote series. Cerakote has many different series (including over 350 colors) that will meet just about any application. Contact us for specific application requests so we can fit the correct series to your project.
The Tema Vpb is currently one of the best vapour blasting machines on the market and gives us the best finishes for our customers.
VAPOUR/AQUABLASTING -WHAT IS THIS?
Vapour blasting, also knowing as wet blasting or liquid honing, is rapidly becoming the number one choice for applications requiring the highest qality of surface finish.
Aquablast range of wet blasting machines uses the vapour blasting process to simulataneously degrease and blast industrial components, of many different shapes and sizes.
The key to vapour blasting is that the finish is produced through the flow of water borne abrasive, giving a finer finish due to the flushing action of the water.
No media is impregnated into the component, nor is there any dust created by the break- up of media, unlike dry blasting where the finish is produced by sheer force of media impact. This method is completely dust free.
ENGINE CASE
With vapour blaster that has a internal depth of 1000x800mm we are able to restore anything from car engines to motorcycle engines.
